  1. 1. How do I care for my pewter items?

To clean, wash in hot soapy water, rinse, dry and buff with a silver cloth. Do not put in the dishwasher. However, if it does accidentally go into the dishwasher, you can restore the shine by polishing vigorously with silver polish.

  1. 2. How do I care for my aluminium items?

To clean, wash with soapy water, rinse, dry and buff with a soft cloth. Metal polish may be used on the aluminum parts only and should not be used on the Kiln Fired Coating.

  1. 3. How do I care for my stainless steel items?

These products are dishwasher safe or can be cleaned by hand in soapy water

  1. 4. How do I care for my Diana Carmichael linen?

- Wash by hand or separately in a washing machine at 30 degrees maximum
- Use gentle soap and gentle cycle
- Do not spot clean with harsh detergents
- Do not tumble dry
- Iron on the reverse side
- It is preferable to dry and store placemats flat

  1. 5. How do I care for my Diana Carmichael items?

You can hand-wash them in warm, soapy water when necessary, rinse in clean water and dry with a soft clean cloth. It is recommended to use a non-abrasive material to avoid scratching the piece and leaving it dull and grey. If neglected, lead-free pewter takes on a patina, but cleaning as indicated above, or with a chamois, will restore the glow.

Finger marks can be removed with methylated spirits if necessary.

Should any of your Diana Carmichael pieces be inadvertently placed in a dishwasher, use some of our special metal polish. Formulated to polish and protect pewter, this paste will restore the glow to any damaged piece.

Our wooden boards are made out of African rosewood. To keep it moisturised, it is advised to apply vegetable oil (sunflower oil) on the surface and let it dry over 24h. Remove excess oil with a cloth.

  1. 6. Pewter and silver – I can’t tell the difference?

They both have a smooth silvery finish, but pewter is actually a soft alloy comprising tin, antimony and trace elements of copper. Silver is a naturally occurring precious non-ferrous metal that is mostly used in its alloy sterling form.

  1. 7. I hate washing up! Which products are dishwasher safe?

The Carrol Boyes stainless steel range has been specially introduced for the busy house-person. It is light-weight, but strong, non-corrosive and easy to clean!
Under NO circumstances can PEWTER be washed in the dishwasher.

  1. 8. How can I order?

E-mail Kim van der Merwe at NTS Marketing and ensure you provide your contact details, the product description, product code and total quantity required. We will confirm the order and revert with a quote.

  1. 9. How and when do I pay for my goods?

Payment details and freight costs are reflected on your invoice. Typically a 50% deposit is required on placing the order with NTS Marketing. The remaining 50% becomes due on the order going in to production unless terms have been arranged and approved with NTS Marketing.

  1. 10. Can my goods be sent any way I choose?

Yes. You may choose the method of transportation and delivery. Once your order has been processed and weighed, you will be informed of the cost of transportation. Your waybill or tracking number will be issued to you when your goods are ready for despatch.

  1. 11. Where are my goods?

Please contact us immediately if any expected parcel fails to arrive and we will trace its route.

  1. 12. What happens to breakages?

Please notify us immediately. We will advise you on what to do next.

  1. 13. What are “back orders”?

If we are unable to complete an order at the time of an urgent request, we will send what stock is available and put the balance on “back order”. Once new stock has arrived it will be dispatched to you.

  1. 14. Where can I get a catalogue?

Contact NTS Marketing for a catalogue for either range for a nominal fee.

  1. 15. Can I buy directly?

No. Both ranges are sold via retail outlets and corporate gift companies nationally as well as international retail outlets and agents.

  1. 16. What stock do you have available?

NTS Marketing will ascertain stock availability and advise accordingly.

  1. 17. Can you send an urgent order today?

NTS Marketing will enquire if the stock is available and whether the manufacturer can process the order within the required timeframe and advice accordingly.

  1. 18. Can you send my order Speed Service?

Yes we can. We are happy to send the goods via any method you choose, provide we have written instructions. Please bear in mind that the costs thereof will be for your account.

  1. 19. Can I see proof of delivery?

Yes you may. NTS Marketing will be able to trace via the waybill tracking numbers and can contact the freight company to provide a faxed copy of the signed waybill should this be required.

  1. 20. What packaging is available?

For National orders, all products, except pewter cutlery and solid pewter, are packaged.
Flat boxes and sleeves, wrapping paper and shopping bags are available at extra cost.
International orders have packaging included in the price of the products with the exception of wrapping paper and paper bags.
